HEIC to JPG Converter — Free, In-Browser, No Upload
iPhone photos are saved as HEIC by default. Convert them to JPG on your device with SnapShrink — the decoder runs entirely in your browser, nothing ever uploads, and you still get the quality slider, Target KB, PNG or WebP output, batch mode, and ZIP download.

How it works
- Open the SnapShrink tool (JPG output is pre-selected).
- Drop one or more
.heic/.heiffiles — a HEIC badge marks them in the list. - Compress and download JPGs individually or as a ZIP. Optionally set Target KB or switch to PNG/WebP.
Frequently asked questions
Why does the iPhone use HEIC?
Apple uses HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) as the default camera format because it stores more detail in less space than JPEG. Many Windows apps, email clients, and web forms still expect JPG, so a conversion step is often required.
Does converting HEIC to JPG lose quality?
JPEG is lossy, so there is always some recompression. SnapShrink starts from a high-quality decode, then lets you set the quality slider or a Target KB so you choose the size–quality tradeoff. For most sharing and form uploads the result looks fine at normal viewing sizes.
Can I convert a batch of HEIC photos at once?
Yes. Drop multiple .heic or .heif files, set output to JPG, and download them individually or as a ZIP when the batch finishes.
Does HEIC to JPG work on Windows?
Yes. Conversion runs in Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and other modern browsers on Windows, Mac, and Linux. You do not need the HEIF Image Extensions pack or iCloud Photos.
What are the free limits?
The first 10 images per browser session are free, including HEIC conversion. Unlimited use is a one-time $9 Pro license — no subscription.
