How it works

  1. Open the Blog / Web preset — settings are pre-filled.
  2. Drop JPEG, PNG, WebP, or GIF files from your drafts folder.
  3. Download WebP outputs (or a ZIP for the whole batch) and upload them to your CMS.

The preset fits images inside a 1600px max width, keeps aspect ratio, and encodes WebP at quality 80. Smaller sources are left at their native size — we never upscale.

Why these settings

Blog readers pay for every kilobyte on mobile. A 4000px phone photo is far larger than any article layout needs. Capping at 1600px and switching to WebP cuts weight without a separate resize tool and converter.

Prefer a hard KB cap for a newsletter or portal? Switch to target-KB mode or use compress to 100KB. For storefront catalogs, try the Shopify image optimizer preset instead.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Blog / Web preset do?

It caps the longest edge at 1600px (aspect preserved), encodes WebP at quality 80, and keeps work in your browser with no upload.

Why 1600px for blog images?

Most article layouts never show photos larger than about 1200–1600 CSS pixels. Exporting larger files wastes bandwidth without improving the reader experience.

Are blog images uploaded to SnapShrink?

No. Compression and conversion run locally in your tab. See the privacy policy.

Can I optimize a whole folder of post images?

Yes. Multi-select or drop a batch with the Blog / Web preset active, then download a ZIP. First 10 images per session are free.
